Research Into Location- Luke Greenslade

on boxing day 1863, the princess theatre locally built by john parr and sons, opened in west street to a packed house, many hundereds having to be turned away, thirty years later the theatre had become a cine variety house, interspersing live entertainment with films. it then also changed its name to the americanised-german KINO, The Kino gradually staged fewer and fewer shows turning more exclusively to to films around 1914. By the early 1960's the last film had been shown, with bingo taking over, quite recently the building has been turned into a snookerhall in 2007. the name princess theatre is still emblazoned on its front gable and although much has altered internally it is much of hoylands credit that the main fabric of the building has still survived. last week on the 11/03/10 the snookerhall closed down, proving hard to get into the builind to film the second half of the film, today the 17/03/10, we progressed with the shooting of the piece and has worked very well we used the time effectivly gathering some great shots, we chose the building as it has so much history and has that overall spooky feel we were wanting to gather. the building has untouched stair wells and rooms from as late as when it was the old theatre with old projection rooms and the balcony stair wells and steps for tiered seating. with added extras random bangs creaks this adds feeling for the actors greatening their adrenaline rush making them more cautious to whats going to happen next which has a great effect on the film itself.

Lisa Clayton - film distributors

From previous research Paramount Pictures has recently distributes the film paranormal activity, this film is a similar genre to our filmed snatched. We thought that this would be a suitable distributor as this is also an American company, this will hep our film to be enter into film festivals so that it can change the distributors so that the film will progress into making more money.

On December 11, 2005, Paramount went into partnership with Dreamworks (which was co-founded by former Paramount executive Jeffrey Katzenburg).
The partnership involved Paramount to distribute the DreamWorks animated films for a small fee, including the Sherk franchise and the sequel Sherk 2. The first film distributed under this deal is over the hedge
The deal closed on February 6, 2006. This acquisition was seen at the time as a stopgap measure as Brad Grey was unsuccessful in assembling sufficient films for production and distribution and the DreamWorks films would fill the gap.
On October 6, 2008, Paramount and DreamWorks announced the joint venture was ending and that DreamWorks would be seeking new distributors for its films.

Grey also launched a Digital Entertainment division to take advantage of emerging digital distribution technologies. This led to Paramount becoming the second movie studio to sign a deal with Apple Inc, to sell its films through the iTunes store. The films were consortium and subsequently gave up the guarantees they had received and will now release in the Blu-ray format.
Also, in 2007, Paramount sold another one of its "heritage" units, Famous, to Sony/ ATV Music production, ending a nearly-eight decade run as a division of Paramount, being the studio's music publishing arm since the period when the entire company went by the name "Famous Players."

Paramount Home Entertainment (formerly Paramount Home Video and Paramount Video) is the division of Paramount Pictures dealing with home video and was founded in late 1975.
PHE distributes most of the programming assets owned by Viacom parent National Amusements. The not only includes films by Paramount Pictures themselves, but also the back catalog of Dreamworks, shows from MTV Networks and Bet Network, and, through CBS home entertainment, the holdings of Viacom sister company CBS corporation - this includes the libraries of CBS television studios, CBS theartical theatre, and Showtime Entertainment.
PHE also has agreements with PHB for DVD/Blu-Ray distribution of various programs that the former aired, and several films and TV series based on franchises owned by the latter. By-products of the latter deal are the 2007 and 2009 films based on the Transformers toy line, and the 2009 film based on the G.I Joe toy line.
Films from republic pictures, Paramount's other subsidiary, are not distributed on video and DVD by PHE (with some exceptions), but are distributed on video and DVD by Lionsgate home entertainment, which recently signed a deal to distribute some of Paramount's own films on DVD (in addition to the aforementioned Republic library). Also, as a result of this deal, Lionsgate has recently released "triple features" of their own library of films on DVD using the package design originated by Paramount.
PHE have developed a well-known trademark by giving their Special Edition/Director's Cut editions different names rather than the usual "Special Edition," or "Director's Edition".
Internationally, PHE holds the DVD rights to several shows on HBO. PHE also distributes in Germany the DVD releases of films distributed theatrically by Prokino Filmverleih.
As Paramount Home Video, the company once distributed several Miramax releases on video - the video rights to some of these films are still owned by Paramount.
Recently, PHE launched a direct-to-video label, Paramount Famous Productions (with the "Famous" part of the name a throwback to the days when the company was called Famous Players).
This distributor released Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Very First Alvin Show on DVD

Paramount brands the majority of its HD content under the label 'Paramount High Definition' which is seen both on the title box cover and as an in-movie opening. Films from Paramount subsidiaries such as Nicoldian Movies and MTV films as well as from sister studio Dreamworks use no special branding, Paramount vintage (another subsidiary) releases only select titles under the Paramount High Definition banner such as Babel.

Title Sequence Luke Greenslade

this is then the main title of the page where the real plot begins, the two girls looking for there "snatched" friend begin outside the club where the opening title forks down out of the clouds replacing the clubs emblemum with the title of the film.
this will be the 5th title to follow on after the 4th 3rd and 2nd titles in this sequence continuing with the audio static.

this will be the 4th title to follow on from the 2nd and 3rd continuing with the audio static running through

this is the third title to appear in the sequence following the 2nd

After the main title has been on there will be a short piece of the film played untill the two girls recieve a phone call but there is no visual image for when the phone call takes place, were just using the audio and at this point this is where the titles are going to appear, running inbetween the titles is going to be audio static representing the voice of the person speaking on the phone.

This title will appear at the very beining of the production, both myself and rebecca mcbain decided on the idea that with our company name been a crucial creations production depends on time and having certain amount of time to do something, so the opening title were wanting like a count down of numbers, as it relates to our piece, theres only a certain amount of time to find the mising girl then later in the plot theres a bomb scare so we feel this relates well.

the above title sequence is a collection of images which i have produced on powerpoint then saved as jpeg files which could then upload each individual slide as a seperate image, having a clear idea of what is now required for the title sequence i think the ideas above will work well in the final piece.
http://www.artofthetitle.com/, due to genre of our film been horror/thriller based, 'THE THING' title sequence, suites the genre and theme were wanting out title sequence to be based upon.
http://www.vimeo.com/8738597, this is also another title sequence which could be used from the film 'SILENT HILL' as it also has the linking genres, and the effects we would like to aim for.

That was the last time the girls was seen. With a blink of an eye she was taken, her two friends Charlotte and Laura where frantically shouting her name when they noticed one of the back rooms was open, there she was tied to a chair making no noise. The girls attempting to set her free when the killer jumps in front of them, they run back into the corner with their holding each others hands, shouting Kirsty's name.

They enter the studios, it is gloomy and dark, nobody has revisited it since the last night they were in there. They are alert at all times, flashback keep coming to them of the previous event of when Kirsty was taken from them. Everywhere they look they think they have seen her. They hear foot steps comimg towards them, they turn round and to make themselves aware and killer is standing in front of them, staring at the both of them and breathing heavily. They turn and run to back of the studios and hide in the curtains as they wait for him to go past, their hearts racing. As they make themselves aware of where about they are in the theatre they look above and notice Laura's brothers jacket hanging from above. A frequent tapping comes from the side wall, they beginning to shout for Kirsty, she reply's with a scream. They hear the elephant footsteps again, they don't move from the curtain's. Kirsty is still screaming dramatically from the back room, Charlotte and Laura run across the stage to go the long way around the back, they do this so that they do not bump into the killer on their travels. On their journey round Charlotte is taken from the back, the killer was hiding at the back of studios awaiting for them. Laura screams and cries out, her head in her hands and carries on shouting their names. She runs into the distances so she is staring at the front of the theatre. The killer watches her every move from the distance, Laura is unaware of this. Laura gives one last look into the distance and races back into the studios. She creeps around, trying to make very little noise, she carries on looking over her shoulder to make sure that he isn't behind her. She finds Kirsty and Charlotte stood in the middle of the room in a some form of trance. She frantically shouts their names but gets no reply. Laura cries aloud, walks over to them to try and make them realise what is happening. They do not make any emotion and stare into the distance of the room, not blinking, just making small steps around in a circle. The killer enters the room, Laura runs back into the corner so he can not make out she is there. He walks over to the both of them and strokes their hair, has one last glance over his shoulder and leaves the room. Laura into the centre of the room, she understands that she cannot do anything alone so therefore she has to get out of there. Laura quietly makes her way to the fire exist, sharply looking around in the darkness to make sure the killer is no where is site. She makes it to the doors, opens them without a sound, she beginnings to panic as she runs away her heart racing through her rib cage. Within a spilt second she was grabbed and taken away, none of the girls had been seen for over 6 months.
